Stusrt Brown / Josh Chamberlain
The second round of the 2019 ACU Pro Clean British sidecarcross championship got underway at the Preston Docks MX track in Lancashire last weekend.
The Sidecars have never had British championship here before, but it was a tough and demanding track, which made for some great racing. The weather was cloudy but very windy, and the track dry and dusty.
It was good to see the defending champion back on the track after a fantastic recovery from a back operation.
Brett Wilkinson / Ryan Humphrey
Race one got underway with an early lead for Stuart Brown / Josh Chamberlain, they were on good form going on to take a great win. Brett Wilkinson / Ryan Humphrey tucked into second with Gary Moulds / Steve Kirwin in third, but they slowed after a few laps with Steve’s damaged back too painful to continue. This left George Kinge / Lewis Gray in third, but they were under pressure from Jake Brown / Joe Millard how pushed hard to blast into third, they went on to challenge vigorously for second but couldn’t find a way past.
Brown / Chamberlain also took the holeshot in race two, going on to take another safe win. Brett Wilkinson / Ryan Humphrey again held second, but this time Jake Brown / Joe Millard managed to get past, leaving Brett Wilkinson / Ryan Humphrey in third. Behind George Kinge / Lewis Gray put their race 1 problems behind them blasting through to fourth with Michael Hodges / Scott Grahame just behind
Scott Graham / Michael Hodges
In the final race, Stuart Brown / Josh Chamberlain took a third win. Brett Wilkinson / Ryan Humphrey were non-starters as passenger Ryan damaged his knee. This time Jake Brown / Joe Millard wasted no time tucking into second keeping the leaders in sight. George Kinge / Lewis Gray held third but caused a stir when then bounced over a berm and re-joined the track cutting a small section but didn’t gain any advantage, so they kept that great third place and didn’t lose any point twenty-two point advantage over second place Jake Brown / Joe Millard. George Kinge / Lewis Gray are in third but hold the same points as Michael Hodges / Scott Grahame. Dan Foden / Roy Bijenhof now holds fifth.
