Jake Brown / Joe Millard lead the pack
The fourth round of the 2019 ACU Pro-Clean British sidecarcross championship was held this weekend at the Wakes Colne track in Halstead, Essex.
Stuart Brown and passenger Josh Chamberlain were on top form took two great wins, but this week it was son Jake Brown and passenger Joe Millard that took the overall win, their first championship overall win together.

Garry Moulds / Drian Anthony
Race one got underway with an early lead for George Kinge / Lewis Gray, battling into bend one alongside Dan Foden / Roy Bijenhof. Jake Brown / Joe Millard was just behind and battled past them both to take the lead. Stuart Brown / Josh Chamberlain closed on the leading pair, and by the halfway point had blasted into the lead, but they were struggling with spokes breaking up in the front wheel. Jake Brown / Joe Millard stayed close and while negotiating the backmarkers that picked a better line and nipped through back into the lead. Stuart Brown / Josh Chamberlain held second until they received a five-place penalty for refuelling while on the start line, in last-minute bike preparations.
This means George Kinge / Lewis Gray took second with Dan Foden / Roy Bijenhof just behind.  Michael Hodges / Paul Horton took fourth with the new pairing or Jack Etheridge / Zac Snell in fifth. Gary Moulds with Australian passenger Brian Anthony was just behind until Gary squashed his foot and they had to retire. The race was stopped a few laps from the end when Matthew Connor / Jim Kinge had a dramatic crash, and the bike caught them up during the big tumble. I’m pleased to say they both walked away from the accident.

Stuart Brown / Josh Chamberlain and Jake Brown / Joe Millard
In race two Stuart Brown / Josh Chamberlain took the holeshot and put all their race one problems behind them going on to take a great win.
Bend one was very dramatic with many of the first teams crashing together, Jake Brown / Joe Millard took advantage of that and quickly tucked into second. Dan Foden / Roy Bijenhof held the safer inside line and took third with George Kinge / Lewis Gray battling hard to get past throughout the race, but at the flag, it was George Kinge / Lewis Gray who held the advantage. Michael Hodges / Paul Horton had another safe race taking fifth just ahead of Gary Moulds / Brian Anthony.  Jack Etheridge / Zac Snell were battling to get in the top five, but crashed over the tabletop and finished with a missing front number plate, a bashed up face for Jack and a broken steering damper.
In the final race, Gary Moulds / Brian Anthony took the holeshot and fought hard to stay ahead, but the competition was intense. George Kinge / Lewis Gray blasted ahead over the whoops and held a good lead for a few laps, but Stuart Brown / Josh Chamberlain was on a charge and soon blasted ahead, taking a second win. George Kinge / Lewis Gray held second but was challenged hard by Jake Brown / Joe Millard and despite putting up a good fight had to settle for third. Gary Moulds / Brian Anthony stayed close in fourth with Dan Foden / Roy Bijenhof just behind.

George Kninge / Lewis Gray
Stuart Brown / Josh Chamberlain took second overall, but retain the red plate and a 46 point advantage Jake Brown / Joe Millard, father and son still leading the championship.
George Kinge / Lewis Gray is holding third with Michael Hodges and stand in passenger Paul Horton in fourth. Dan Foden / Roy Bijenhof are closing the gap and are now just two points behind in fifth.
Brett Wilkinson, the defending champion has so far only participated at two rounds, and the team are working to get back to full strength. But still, hold a top ten place.
Final round: 29th September, Canada Heights
