Rain Stops Play at the Final Sidecar Championship Round
Report and Pictures by Tracy Thacker
The final round of the ACU Pro Clean Sidecar British Championship due to take place at Canada Heights last weekend was cancelled due to trinational rain on the morning of the event.
With no other dates available for replacement event the points as they stood from the last round were taken as the championship results and the champions declared.
1 Stuart Brown / Josh Chamberlain 289
2 Jake Brown / Joe Millard 253
3 George Kinge / Lewis Gray 214
4 Michael Hodges / Scott Grahame 192
5 Dan Foden / Roy Bijenhof 190
6 Tony Grahame / Charlie Ide 158
Stuart Brown and Josh Chamberlain were this year’s British Champions again, the seventh time together, and amazingly the 16th time for Stuart. The pair won all but one of the races this season and finish a great 46 points ahead of second place.
Stuart’s son Jake Brown with passenger Joe Millard were second after a season long family battle. George Kinge and Lewis Gray together took a brilliant third place, after a consistent first season.
Michael Hodges and Scott Grahame struggled when Scott broke his leg, but the team have fought on with the help of temporary replacements and managed an amazing fourth place. Dan Foden and his Dutch passenger Roy Bijenhof, they were just two points behind in fifth.
Unfortunately, the defending champion Brett Wilkinson, and passenger Ryan Humphrey only participated at two rounds due to injury problems. It’s been a tough season for the pair.
So now just the awards night and the parties before the hard work starts again ready for next season.
